Vintage Citroen 2CV Paris tours struggle under coronavirus travel ban

PARIS — There’s nothing Jean-Remi Galinon enjoys more than bouncing along cobbled streets and showing off Paris to foreign tourists, usually Americans, in his most iconic of French vintage cars.

But the coronavirus has kept them away, and since mid-March he’s only given one tour in his 39-year-old cherry red Citroen 2CV boneshaker.

Pence cancels plans to travel to Florida and Arizona as coronavirus cases spike

WASHINGTON — Vice President Mike Pence has canceled events in Florida and Arizona as coronavirus cases spike in those states. 

A spokesperson for President Donald Trump’s campaign confirmed to USA TODAY the events, which included stops as part of Pence’s “Faith in America” tour, were canceled “out of an abundance of caution” as cases climb in Florida and Arizona. 

On Tuesday, Pence was scheduled to give remarks at a “Faith in America” event in Tucson and to meet with Gov. Doug Ducey about the COVID-19 response.

Australian officials warn against travel to new coronavirus hotspots

SYDNEY (Reuters) – Australian officials tried to contain a fresh outbreak of the novel coronavirus on Monday, telling residents in the cluster hotspots to avoid travel outside their suburbs in Melbourne, the country’s second-largest city.

Victoria state of which Melbourne is the capital has recorded double digit rises in new COVID-19 infections, accounting for nearly 90% of the 126 cases detected nationally over the past week.
